List of Visual Art Careers

list of visual art careers :
Have you ever wanted to become a visual artist? Do you have dreams of putting your creativity to use in a way that may actually provide for yourself and even your family? Many people believe that this is only a dream, but in reality there are a number of excellent visual art careers out there. The following are some much desired careers that offer excellent compensation and the opportunity let your creative juices flow.

Filmmaker

One of the youngest and constantly evolving fields of visual art is filmmaking. Here, a person can take a video camera and some editing, light and sound equipment and create a stunning visual work that can be applied to a number of fields. Making feature and short fiction pieces are just one of the things professional filmmakers do. Others create documentaries that can be shown at schools, film weddings for brides and grooms celebrating their special day, or create a music video for an emerging rock band. The average filmmaker makes about $39,000 per year. While schooling helps in this career field, having a few years of experience is much better for helping you land better paying gigs.

Fashion Design

Fashion design is another visual art field that can easily lead to a lucrative career. As a fashion designer, you can create your own masterpieces to be worn by others. The only limit is your imagination and the materials you can use to create a stunning piece of clothing. The average fashion designer makes over $43,000 every year, which goes up as more experience in the industry is gained. Usually, fashion designers have some schooling, though raw talent does pay off in this field. If you are interested in working with runway models, clothing lines, and other designers, this may be the visual arts career for you.

Photography

Photographers are another example of visual artists who are beginning to make it to the top of the field, where once painters and sculptors reigned supreme. If you are interested in fine art photography, find a subject you like and start taking photos that bring out emotions and intensity. With many visual artists turning to digital technology, it makes becoming a professional photographer easier as equipment costs will go down. The average professional photographer makes over $53,000 a year and can work in many different fields in addition to creating fine art works. These include special event photography and photojournalism, just to name two.
