Art ProjectsCreating fun and colorful collages is a great way to spend quality time with your kids. Old magazines and photographs are both perfect resources for creating collages. Use a foam core board for a more substantial collage that you can hang on the wall.
Keepsake Collages
Start with a photo collage and add small items that remind you of favorite memories. Ticket stubs, trinkets, and labels may have sentimental value that will remind you of an event. You can also visit a craft store with your kids to find fun and unique items to add to your collage. Fabric, buttons, and pipe cleaners can be transformed into borders and decorations.
Make It Three-D
Finding creative ways to give your collage texture will make it unique. Mounting an image to a small piece of cardboard can give it a slight lift off the page. Or, try making the whole collage three-dimensional. Mount your items and images inside a small box, like a shoe box, to create a fun collage art project.
Vision Board
It is never too early to teach children the power of positive thinking. Help them make a collage of all their goals and dreams, so that they have a tangible reminder of the things they want. Show them that they can modify this collage as they get older and their dreams change. Creating a vision board is a wonderful way to set goals and have fun.
